Street Maintenance
The City of Clarkston’s Street Department takes pride in maintaining the City’s streets, keeping storm drains in good working order, ensuring the streets are properly signed and signs are visible, and keeping the rights-of-way clear of debris and overgrown vegetation. The staff also assists in maintaining parks and other City facilities as well as fall leaf collection and disposal.
Traffic Lights
Currently, all traffic signal lights in Clarkston are on state routes and are maintained by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
If you notice that a traffic signal is not operating, please call dispatch at (509) 758-2331 to report it so that interim traffic control can be provided. For other concerns about a specific traffic signal light, call the Washington Department of Transportation maintenance office at (509) 758-6401.
Street Lights
Streetlights in Clarkston are owned and maintained by Avista Utilities. The City pays the electric bill for these lights and has the decision-making authority for determining where lights are located. If you notice that a streetlight is out, you can notify Avista directly at (509) 798-1472. Please be prepared to give them an exact location of the light.
